Marty Davis, Director of Golf
Marty Davis returns to the La Contenta Golf family after 6 years serving as the Facility Manager of Merced Country Club. Marty originally served as the Director of Golf at La Contenta from 1996 – 2002. His duties included managing the Golf Shop staff, Food and Beverage Director, organization of Tournament Operations, and Golf Shop retail sales. He returns to his former position to oversee the new facility improvements, and utilize his skills to manage the expanded operation.
Marty’s philosophy of success is based on the idea of a completely satisfied customer. We want customers to feel that we have treated them fairly and that we care about their opinions. We will go beyond merely providing adequate customer service. We need to dedicate ourselves to outstanding customer service and value.
His accomplishments include election to PGA membership in 1994, and recognition as National Clubfitter of the Year for Mizuno Golf in 2003. Marty and his wife Natasha currently reside in Valley Springs with their family.
Clifford A. Rourke, Golf Course Superintendent
As the Golf Course Superintendent, Cliff is directly responsible for all golf course maintenance and construction projects at La Contenta.
Cliff received his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Planning and Management from the University of California at Davis in 1979. He is a Class A Member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America with over twenty seven years of experience in turf grass management.
Cliff is a sports fan who enjoys watching baseball, basketball, football, hockey, and golf. He is also a very accomplished bowler, with four perfect games to his credit. In his spare time, Cliff likes reading books, doing yard work, and fixing things around the house. Cliff and his wife, Cyndi, live in Valley Springs.

Leslie joins the La Contenta family with an extensive event planning background as a program director for the incentive travel industry. With 15 years experience in coordinating special events worldwide for corportate clients Leslie is ready to bring her talents to Valley Springs. Leslie resides with her husband Larry in La Contenta.
